3. What we collect
CoastSpin is built to minimise data collection. The information we gather falls into three distinct categories:
3.1 Contact form submissions
When you send us a message through the contact form or by email, we receive:
- the name you have given us;

- the content of your message.
3.2 Technical server logs
For the site to operate, our server may temporarily log:
- your IP address in a shortened form;
- the browser type and version;
- your operating system;
- the time of the visit and the page you viewed.
We keep this information for up to 14 days for security reasons only, without linking it to personal details.
3.3 Cookies

4. Purposes and lawful basis for processing
We process personal information for the following purposes and on the following bases under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 and the OPC’s Information Privacy Principles (IPPs):
- Answering your enquiries: we process the information you provide to respond to your message (IPP 1, IPP 10).
- Site operation: server logs are processed to maintain the security and integrity of the site (legitimate interest, IPP 5).
- Optional cookies: analytics and marketing cookies are used solely with your consent (IPP 3, IPP 10).
- Legal compliance: we may process your information to meet statutory obligations or court orders (IPP 11).
5. Retention
- Contact messages: retained for up to 12 months, or longer if the correspondence necessitates an extended retention period.
- Server logs: no more than 14 days.

Information that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised at the end of its retention period.
6. Who can access your information
CoastSpin does not sell personal information to third parties. Your data may be shared or processed in the following circumstances:

The site’s primary technical environment is in Australia/New Zealand. - Erasure: under certain circumstances, the right to request deletion of your personal information.
- **Restriction:** in certain circumstances, you may request that we limit how your personal information is processed.
- **Portability:** your right to receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format.
- **Objection:** the right to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- You may withdraw your consent at any time where our processing depends on it—such as with cookies or comparable tracking technologies.

11. Children
CoastSpin operates exclusively for adults aged 18 and over. We do not intentionally collect data from minors. If a parent or guardian discovers their child has submitted information, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
